The room

The room the original house was built around. Teak joinery, a king bed dressed in hand-pressed linen, and a garden that begins at the window — the quiet, considered manner of the 1950s highlands, kept exactly as it was.

The bathroom is behind a panelled door rather than a glass wall — an old-fashioned decision we make on purpose. Rain shower, stone basin, and the same soap as every other room in the house.
